Our Vision
The vision for Gateway Church began years ago when God placed it in the heart of our Pastor, Herb Boreson Sr.
God placed a love for the Lewiston and Clarkston valley in the hearts of both Herb & Lisa as young individuals growing up on opposite sides of the river. Later, as a young married couple raising their own family in this valley, God grew and deepened that love for this community Shortly after being saved, Herb received the call to serve God in the ministry. He obediently stepped into the role of minister and served faithfully for many years. It was during this time that God placed the vision of pastoring a community centered church into his heart. Through time God continued to reveal and clarify this vision, and then on September 1, 2013 Gateway Church Lewiston was born. Gateway started with a small group of people in the old Kling’s building, in downtown Lewiston, who had a heart to show the Gospel of Grace to our valley and share salvation with those who do not know Jesus by showing love and compassion in His name. God has grown this congregation and Pastor Herb & Lisa have been blessed with many co-laborers of all ages who share this vision and are excited to learn more about Jesus, love others and watch God’s Spirit move in powerful ways.
Pastor Herb and his wife Lisa have been serving the Lord since 1978 and have many testimonies of the power of God to transform, heal, save and deliver.
Our Pastors have three grown children here and one child in heaven. Their son, Herb Jr. and his wife Shaunessy, help pastor our church and fulfill many pastoral roles of teaching, counseling and serving. Their daughter, Haley and her husband Sam, minister through their assignment in the United States Marines. Their youngest daughter, Audry and her husband Ramon, serve as Life Group leaders, Sunday school teachers and various other areas here at Gateway. Pastor Herb and Lisa also have 13 beautiful grandchildren, all of whom have been raised up in the Word.
